I had such a great time at the 2nd Annual Ellen Art Show.  I met some really great people and was able to share the evening with my sister, Jadai.

Me and my sister at the Ellen Art Show

My sister is so busy with work and school that I rarely get a chance to go to any events with her.  But she was available to attend this event with me and I am so glad she did.  There were some amazing art pieces on display and up for auction.  Jadai and I bid on 3 pieces.  The one in the picture to my sister’s left was our favorite.  It was done using glitter paint over a thick wooden canvas.  We had a chance to meet the event host, Renda Writer, and really enjoyed talking to him.  Since Jadai is an art major in school, she told Renda she would like to be involved in next years event and contribute a painting to be auctioned off where the proceeds go to The Trevor Project.  Renda agreed and Jadai was so happy.  She is already thinking of ideas for her project.  We also met a friend of Renda’s named Mark who recently moved here to California.  Mark plays guitar, produces and mixes music and a variety of other interesting things.  Jadai is going to try to show him around and introduce him to some people here since he only lives about 20 minutes from us.

There was a really neat painting station.  I got to take a blank record and put paint on it and then they spin the record and create a spinart kind of thing.  I’m gonna hang it on my wall in my room.  I will post a picture so you can see how cool it turned out.

If you have a chance to visit LA, make sure you check out The Terrell Moore Gallery.  It is just down the street from The Staples Center.
